Northrend Timewalking returns with tier tokens in its reward cache

Six Wrath of the Lich King dungeons and Ulduar are back this week, and the campaign quest cache can now award Midnight Season 2 tier tokens.

The Northrend Timewalking Dungeon Event has returned to World of Warcraft this week, and Wowhead reports the notable change this time is that its campaign reward cache can now drop Midnight Season 2 tier tokens.

Six Wrath of the Lich King dungeons are in the rotation: Azjol’Nerub, The Forge of Souls, Gundrak, Halls of Lightning, The Nexus and Utgarde Keep. Wowhead lists 10 Timewarped Badges per boss, with a further 25 badges for completing a dungeon.

The final boss of the first dungeon completion also drops The Unstable Prism, which awards 500 Badges on a first turn-in of the week across a player’s warband and another 200 for completions on subsequent characters. Wowhead adds that Disturbance Detected: Ulduar awards a Hero-track Cache of Timewarped Treasures containing gear, badges, and rare mounts or pets from the expansion.

Where the tier tokens come from

Max-level characters can pick up the quest A Frozen Path Through Time in Silvermoon City or from the Adventure Journal and run it alongside the dungeon event for an additional champion-track gear cache. That cache, the Cache of Amani Treasures, is the one Wowhead says can now include tier tokens. The quest is handed out by Auzin and Vormu, who Wowhead places in Silvermoon City for players collecting it in person.

The wider reward list carries two mounts, the Enchanted Spellweave Carpet and the Bridle of the Ironbound Wraithcharger; one battle pet, Specter; three toys, the Hourglass of Eternity, Will of Northrend and Grizzlesnout’s Fang; and a range of Wrath-themed transmog appearances including the Battered Bulwark of the Argent Crusade and the Warsong Coldweather Cleaver.

Players also earn a 50 percent bonus to reputation from quests and creature kills for every Wrath of the Lich King faction while the event runs. Wowhead suggests that bonus makes this a reasonable week to revisit older Northrend content, and points to its own Wrath decor farming guide for what else can be collected while the event is up.
