Overwatch issued a hotfix on August 12 that buffs D.Mon, its newest tank hero, and repairs a bug that left her Power Barrier only partly effective, Esports.gg reports.
Three of her abilities were adjusted:
- Plasma Saber, her primary weapon: damage increased from 60 to 65.
- Propulsors, her movement ability: fuel drain rate reduced from 40 to 25, and fuel regeneration rate increased from 15 to 22.5.
- Fusion Repeater: damage increased from 15 to 16, and cooldown reduced from six seconds to four.
Measured against the old values, the Propulsors change is the broadest of the three: the drain rate falls by 37.5 percent while regeneration climbs by half, so the ability both lasts longer in a single use and comes back faster between them. Fusion Repeater gains on two axes at once, with a third cut from its cooldown on top of the extra point of damage. Plasma Saber's increase is the smallest in proportional terms, a little over eight percent per swing.
The Power Barrier fix
Before the hotfix, D.Mon's Power Barrier did not fully protect her if it was deployed while Fusion Repeater was active, so the two abilities could not be used together as intended. The patch closes that interaction.
The same set of notes cleared three further issues:
- Nano Boost was being removed from Moira when she used Fade.
- The second attacker spawn on Paraiso extended into playable areas.
- D.Mon could become invulnerable temporarily.
Two of the four fixes in the notes concern D.Mon herself, the barrier interaction and the temporary invulnerability case, with the other two covering a Moira ability interaction and a map boundary. No further changes were listed for August 12.
D.Mon arrived as part of Overwatch Season 4, and the August 12 hotfix is the first balance pass she has received since her launch in it.
