A new limited-time Overwatch mode called Community Crafted throws competitive balance out the window, handing nearly every hero exaggerated new abilities designed by a group of community content creators.

A Return to Chaos

Community Crafted was put together by content creators Guxue, Apply, Ocie, and mL7support, and it leans into chaos over balance in the spirit of the game's old April Fools'-style events. The premise is simple: entertainment first, competitive integrity second. Nearly the entire roster received changes, with only the newest hero, Shion, left untouched, and the adjustments range from subtle tweaks to alterations wild enough that they would be unlikely to ever appear in the standard game.

Turrets, Jetpacks, and a Familiar Punch

The mode's headline change belongs to D.Va, whose "Jetpack Cat" can carry both a Symmetra turret and a Torbjorn turret on its back — effectively a heavy artillery drone that melts anyone it flies close to. Soldier: 76 also got a major rework: his Biotic Field now follows him around instead of staying planted, and his ultimate locks onto every enemy on screen at once rather than a single target. Doomfist, meanwhile, has his Uppercut ability back in the mode.

More Buffs Across the Roster

Other heroes picked up equally outsized changes. Ramattra's ultimate now grants 100% lifesteal for its duration, letting him sustain through drawn-out fights. Ana gains a jetpack for extra mobility and heals teammates for double whenever she lands a critical headshot. Taken together, the changes show how far Community Crafted strays from the game's usual balance-first design. No exact end date has been given for Community Crafted, but the mode is live for a limited time. It gives players a window to experiment with hero combinations that would never survive in standard or ranked play — the latest in a line of chaotic, community-driven experiments the game has leaned on over the years.
