According to Esports.gg, players can now pre-download the Overwatch Season 4 patch ahead of its launch on August 11. To do this, players must first launch Battle.net and sign in to their account. They can then click on the Overwatch logo near the top of the launcher and press the gear icon next to the blue “Play” button. From there, they can select the “Check for Updates” option and click on it to start the Overwatch Season 4 pre-download.
Esports.gg reports that once the download is complete, green text that reads “Pre-release content downloaded” should appear below the “Play” button. This indicates that the pre-download has been successful. Additionally, players can automate their Overwatch updates moving forward by logging in to their Battle.net account via the launcher and clicking on the gear icon next to the “Play” button.
As stated by Esports.gg, players can then choose the “Game Settings” option and press the “Downloads” option. From there, they can select their Overwatch download preferences, such as the “Apply latest updates and download pre-release content for recently played games” option. Finally, they can click on the “Done” button to save their changes.
