Overwatch season 4 reworks Paraiso, Eichenwalde and Busan

Blizzard detailed map changes arriving on August 11, including new attack angles in Paraiso and a Junker tower platform in Busan.

Blizzard will rework several Overwatch maps when season 4 begins on August 11. Game producer Ren Soanes outlined the changes during the developer segment of Sunday's Overwatch Champion Series midseason tournament, covering Paraiso, Eichenwalde and Busan, with smaller adjustments to Meka Base and Sanctuary.

Paraiso and Eichenwalde

Paraiso, which has funnelled attackers into a single lane since its 2022 debut, gains a rooftop pool immediately outside the attacker spawn, reached by elevator, and an opened building on the left that leads into an alley overlooking the chokepoint. The main street has been decked out for a parade with improved access to high ground and new routes through the back alleys, and Club Sinestesia at the third point has been overhauled with new music, a dance floor and effects that trigger when Lucio uses his ultimate inside.

Eichenwalde, which launched in 2016 and has seen little change since, is being made friendlier to attackers. Soanes said the map gains a high-ground area outside the attacker spawn accessible by elevator and an extended platform along the right edge for flankers. The second point adds a staircase to the ramparts and a jump pad on the ledge below the bridge leading into the sewers, plus a window looking onto that ledge. The final defender spawn receives several new windows, including an overhead one for mobile heroes, though Soanes specified these are windows rather than extensions of the spawn area.

Busan and the smaller passes

Busan gets the larger makeover, tied to this year's narrative: the Junkers have invaded Korea, leaving downtown littered with debris and a Junker warship overhead. At the capture point, the Junker-modified tower now carries a jump pad and a viewing platform above the objective, where a walkway around the edge had previously been the only height advantage.

Meka Base receives new flank routes intended to break the chokepoints on the stairs near the spawn points, letting a few players work around the side rather than committing the whole team. Sanctuary adds a spring in an alcove with a new health pack and a window overlooking the objective, giving attackers a firing angle with easier access to cover.

Blizzard revamped the two existing flashpoint maps, New Junk City and Suravasa, in 2025 on a similar philosophy of adding cover and engagement options. Soanes said the design team will take feedback on season 4's changes and adjust as needed.
