Blizzard Entertainment gave players a first look at D.Mon on Monday, Overwatch’s 53rd hero and the game’s 15th tank. A full hero trailer premieres Thursday, August 6 at 9 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. EDT, and the character joins the roster on August 11 when season 4 begins.
The teaser is the first direct look at a character Blizzard has been seeding through the game’s recent relaunch rather than announcing outright.
A second MEKA pilot
D.Mon, whose civilian name is Yuna Lee, is a member of Korea’s MEKA Squad. Like her teammate D.Va, she is a former esports professional turned mech pilot who fought with the Korean Mobile Exo-Force against the Gwishin omnics. Her mech is named Beast.
The character is not new to Overwatch’s fiction. She has appeared in or been referenced across cinematics, cosmetics and comics, and former Overwatch writer Michael Chu has described her as tough and protective.
How she plays differently from D.Va is not yet clear. Blizzard released only a short excerpt of the animated hero trailer on Monday, showing what appears to be D.Mon fighting Wrecking Ball and a brief look at Beast in action. No ability details accompanied the teaser.
The eighth hero of the anniversary year
D.Mon has been signposted since February, when Blizzard renamed Overwatch 2 to Overwatch and promised 10 new heroes across 2026 to mark the game’s 10th anniversary. She appeared as one of the silhouettes in the artwork released alongside that announcement.
She is the eighth of those heroes to arrive, following seven added earlier in the year:
- Shion (Damage)
- Sierra (Damage)
- Domina (Tank)
- Anran (Damage)
- Emre (Damage)
- Jetpack Cat (Support)
- Mizuki (Support)
On the count Blizzard set out in February, two of the ten heroes promised for 2026 remain unannounced after D.Mon.
Overwatch is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
