According to HLTV, paiN will play The MongolZ for a chance to reach the playoffs after eliminating Wildcard in the EWC lower bracket. The Brazilian side lost their opening EWC match to 9z, but secured a win against Wildcard in the Group D lower bracket.
HLTV reported that paiN proved superior on Mirage, turning an 11-1 lead after the CT side into a 13-7 victory. The team also secured a win on Nuke, with Rafael 'saffee' Costa producing AWP-fueled highlights and posting a 2.10 rating on the second map, a one-sided 13-3 affair.
On Inferno, paiN stormed out to a 6-0 lead, but Wildcard staged a turnaround, surging to 10-6, HLTV said. The match was dragged into overtime, but Wildcard's CT-side performance proved superior as they took their pick 16-12. However, paiN ultimately won the series.
