The team behind MMO Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen published a development update on July 24 setting out the week’s work, which it said centred on bug fixing and on finishing an initial implementation of Enchanter Mastery so that testers can begin working with it on the Public Test Realm.
On the design and narrative side, the update lists NPC dialogue being implemented in the Port of Rulun, additional fish added to the waters of Badia de Cara, preparatory work for Rogue Mastery, further tuning and itemization for levels 1 to 50, and high-level design work for Faerthale. Bug investigations are being run in partnership with the programming and QA teams.
Faerthale groundwork
Faerthale features again in the worldbuilding and environment art section. The team said it has started producing environmental assets for the zone, including very large trees and parts of very large trees, and has begun detailed planning for building out Faerthale city and the surrounding areas. Elsewhere, parts of Badia de Cara received touch-up work, while the Port of Rulun and Detihauna went through another round of collision improvements and performance optimizations.
Character art and animation work covered refinements to player jogging and sprinting animations, technical testing for an updated armor system, and finalizing elven player and NPC customization across all subgroups. The team is also continuing to build out a Faerthale NPC asset list to inform asset creation.
Server work measured in months
The programming section flags the largest single commitment in the update. The team said it is preparing revisions to core server processes to improve scalability and performance, describing the effort as one that will likely take several months to complete but that is required to enable several important gameplay-related features.
Programmers are also working on data connections for the Market system interface and enabling additional functionality to support class abilities and mastery, work the team expects to continue for a few weeks. Bug investigations and fixes are being prioritized around issues that affect the mastery system or server performance.
