Pantheon names Mastery and water pathfinding its top priorities

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen introduced Mastery for the Cleric and Druid classes alongside a major Warrior update, and in its June 26 development log the team set out what it is prioritizing next.

Two items lead the list: getting Class Mastery fully implemented and functional for all of the game’s active adventuring classes, and investigating problems with NPC pathfinding and movement through water. Since the Mastery release, the team said, much of its time has gone on fixing bugs reported by players.

Design work that week finished adding interactive doors to the Port of Rulun and continued NPC population work in Detihauna and Kosa Minor. The team updated base abilities and Class Mastery for Paladins and Dire Lords, finalized the Class Mastery design for Wizards, Enchanters and Summoners, and continued tuning and itemization for levels 1 to 30 while evaluating player feedback on Class Mastery and combat.

World and character art

Environment artists added mysteries to Badia de Cara for players to discover, applied final polish to the zone’s cavern areas, and did detailed set dressing for Detihauna. The Port of Rulun received finishing touches and more collision fixes, and the team verified levels of detail for props used in both Badia de Cara and the Port of Rulun for client performance. Concepting continued on the modular elven dwelling kit for Faerthale.

Character art delivered a few last NPC variations for Badia de Cara named and rare opponents, finished the Obsidian Crocodile NPC model, and worked on updating some player character animations. The team also handled race and gender adjustments for universal armor meshes ahead of engine import, and continued elf customization concepts and blockouts.

Programming

Programming time went into investigating the pathfinding and water-related NPC bugs named as a priority, and into bugs affecting class abilities and class mastery. Work also continued on itemization and crafting data support and on the market system UI, including the browsing and search window and listing management, plus preparation for data connections.
