Pantheon PvP Servers Return April 2 With No Class Balancing

Visionary Realms detailed the ruleset for Pantheon's returning PvP servers, including corpse looting and no GM support for contested content.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen key art

Player-versus-player combat is coming back to Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen on April 2, the studio said in a March 11, 2025 development update, ending a pause that has been in place since the game entered Early Access. Rather than switch the feature on everywhere, the team is standing up dedicated PvP servers and leaving existing worlds untouched.

The update sets out a ruleset that the team described as raw PvP, warning that the servers are not for the faint of heart. There is no class balancing pass for PvP, meaning some classes will feel more powerful than others in fights between players. The studio said it is up to players to decide how they want to play.

How the PvP ruleset works

The team published the specifics alongside the date. Key points include:

  • PvP is confined to PvP servers and will not be enabled on existing servers
  • Combat opens at level 5, and players can only engage others within five levels of themselves
  • General inventory can be looted from a player corpse; equipped gear cannot
  • The in-combat state ends after 10 seconds without taking PvP damage
  • Damage and healing scale differently in PvP than in PvE content
  • No friendly fire within a group or guild; anyone outside defaults to an offensive target, with CTRL + Left Click to target defensively
  • Players killed in PvP get a 90-second immunity buff
  • Server shard selection is disabled on PvP servers

On moderation, the studio said there will be no GM support for contesting content on these servers. It said the world is a lawless land that players themselves will shape, and that each PvP community will decide whether it settles into order or chaos.

Druid arrival noted alongside PvP work

The same update looked back at the Druid, which the team said launched the week before and has already become one of the game's most played classes. The studio described it as a healing class built around nature magic, using Verdanfire in its spells, and accompanied by a fox companion named Hirode that assists the player and their party. An updated class page was published with further detail.

Beyond PvP, the team said continued bug fixing and work on player feedback about the PvE experience remain part of the near-term plan. The game is available in Early Access on Steam, and the studio noted that people who previously pledged to the project can still download it through the game's patcher.
