Pantheon’s Shaman refresh divides Oracle healing from Fateweaver support

The refreshed Shaman reads the lineage of friend and foe alike, offering ancestral boons on one mastery path and elemental banes on the other.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen key art

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has published the details of its Shaman refresh, built around a class the studio describes as possessing a second sight that reaches beyond the present moment.

That sight lets Shamans discern the lineage of friend and foe alike. The knowledge can be offered as a boon, strengthening allies through ancestral favor and restorative magic, or turned against enemies as a bane — exposing weakness, burdening the spirit, or invoking maladies from ages past.

The class is also framed as a vessel for the elements of Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, Animus and the Ancestral, which the setting treats as ancient powers with wills of their own. Those bonds let Shamans draw on cleansing waters and ancestral spirits to protect and restore, or bend the same elements into rites of disruption and ruin.

Oracle and Fateweaver

Oracle is the healer path, described as a restorative mystic drawing on elemental power to mend wounds across the shifting flow of battle. Fateweaver is the support path. Shamans can hybridize across both. Sample Oracle mastery unlocks include Rushing Waters, which consumes an existing Mantle of Mist on an ally to restore health over time; Echo of the Rainlands, a group heal over time; and Hurry the Past, which instantly finishes the durations of all active periodic healing effects, directly healing their targets.

Equipment and skills

The Shaman is available to Dark Myr, Dwarf, Elf, Human and Ogre characters. It uses hammers, maces, clubs, short and long spears, long staves and great hammers, wears armor up to leather, and can carry bucklers and small shields. Weapon skills cover Blunt, Great Hammer, Short Spear, Long Spear and Long Staff; combat skills are Shield, capped at small shields, and Dodge; spell skills run across Augmentation, Conjuration, Enervation, Evocation, Fortification, Manifestation and Restoration.

Base abilities mix healing, debuffs and utility. Mantle of Mist restores health over time and Cleansing Flame cures disease, while Paradox returns a fallen ally to life where they were slain. Offensive options include Omen of Fangs, Bane of Venom, Weathering for reducing an enemy’s armor class, Headwinds for lowering their chance to hit, and Chains of Bedrock for rooting them. Buffs cover Grip of Stone, Agewalker’s Gift, Mark of the Fireclaw and Reptilian Veil. The class also carries several unusual utilities: Serpentine Strike counterstrikes after the Shaman takes damage, Chronoburn sacrifices health to record a mana total that is restored later, Walk the Ages marks a location to return to instantly, and Shrink lets a Shaman or an ally fit into tight spaces.
