Visionary Realms published early screenshots from Badia de Cara on April 10, showing a port town and several creatures from a zone the studio said players will explore later this year.
The Port of Rulun
The studio placed the Port of Rulun on the southern edge of the Silent Plains, calling it one of only a handful of major ports on the continent of Kingsreach. It operates outside the authority of Thronefast and its soldiers, and the team described its streets as a mix of travelers, pirates, merchants and other characters. Most trade moving through the Silent Plains passes through the port's gates, and as one of the few deepwater ports on the continent it can handle larger ships.
The team said the port town is still being built out and detailed, and framed the images as an early look at some of its areas rather than a finished view.
Three residents of the bay
Alongside the port, the studio shared a small sample of NPCs players may run into in the zone. It attached a caveat to those images: the models are shown before animations have been applied, so their default poses will not reflect how the creatures look in game, which the team said will be better.
- The Mawnok, a tribe of wolflike humanoids that has claimed the volcanic island of Kosa Ull and its jungles. The studio described them as primitive, living in small villages and surviving by hunting and fishing, and said arriving visitors tend to become the centerpiece of a tribal feast.
- The Kosa Panther, a large predator sharing the same jungles. The team called them swift, agile and cunning, and said their claws and fangs make short work of anyone who challenges them.
- The Badia Shark, the reason swimming to Kosa Ull is a bad idea. The studio noted the island is visible from the Silent Plains on a clear day, which might tempt explorers until they look at what is in the water.
The team said further mysteries, treasures and dangers wait in the depths of the bay for players willing to get past the sharks.
