Perfect World has announced that it will host the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of 2027 in Shanghai, China, HLTV reported on September 15. The announcement confirms an earlier report by HLTV that the organizer would stage the event.
According to HLTV, the Perfect World Shanghai Major is slated to run from November 22 to December 12, 2027, over four stages, a schedule the outlet said holds barring any changes to the Major format. The expected prize pool is $1.25 million.
It will be Perfect World's second Major. Its first was the Shanghai Major in 2024, where Spirit beat FaZe in the grand final to win their first Major title.
Shanghai is the second of two Majors on the 2027 calendar. The first will be hosted by FiReSPORTS in Buenos Aires, Argentina. HLTV has also previously reported that BLAST and ESL won the bids to host the Majors in 2028. The announced hosts are:
- First Major of 2027: FiReSPORTS in Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Second Major of 2027: Perfect World in Shanghai, China, November 22 to December 12
- Majors of 2028: BLAST and ESL, according to HLTV's earlier reporting on the winning bids
