Pocketpair has announced Palworld Online, a massively multiplayer spin-off of its creature-collecting game Palworld. The studio says the title is coming exclusively to iOS and Android in 2026, with Garena publishing.
In its announcement, Pocketpair describes the game as rebuilding Palworld's scale for mobile devices, set in a seamlessly connected open world populated by the creatures the series calls Pals. The studio says Palworld Online carries its own story setting and original storyline rather than retelling the original game's.
Pocketpair listed four areas of focus in the announcement:
- Exploration and Pal capture and raising across a seamless open world, with side stories written for this game
- Online multiplayer, including parties, cooperative PvE content, PvP battles and visits to other players' bases
- Joint bases built with friends, where Pals can be assigned to automate production and handle defence
- Controls rebuilt for smartphones, including touch and one-tap input, targeting a range of devices
We want to deliver a new experience on mobile where players can connect with each other and adventure together. Working closely with Pocketpair, we are optimizing the game so that it can be enjoyed comfortably on mobile devices without sacrificing the depth, immersion, and freedom that are characteristic of Palworld.
Polygon, reporting the announcement, describes the original Palworld as a 2024 megahit, and names Garena as the publisher behind both that game and the new spin-off. The announcement positions the mobile game as a parallel entry rather than a port, with its own world and story alongside the systems the series is known for.
Neither company has given a specific release date. Pocketpair says more details, including the date and what it calls future developments, will be announced later. No platforms beyond iOS and Android have been mentioned, and the studio has not said whether the mobile game shares progression or servers with the existing Palworld.
