Pocketpair advised Palworld players returning after a long break to be careful about the mods they have installed, a warning issued ahead of the game’s 1.0 release. Rock Paper Shotgun reported the advice on 9 July 2026, a day before that release was due.
The caution is aimed squarely at lapsed players. Someone who has not launched Palworld in months may still have mods in place that were built against a much earlier build of the game, and the 1.0 version marks the end of a development period the report describes as running slightly beyond two years.
That period took in a series of updates and, as the report notes, a notable lawsuit. The 1.0 milestone closes out Palworld’s early access run.
The report does not detail which mods are affected, whether Pocketpair pointed to specific incompatibilities or crashes, or whether the studio offered guidance on reinstalling mods after the update. It also does not say whether existing save files are affected.
This account reflects the position as reported on 9 July 2026, before the 1.0 release; the launch date given in the report is 10 July 2026.
