Pokémon Pokopia players who missed the game's limited-time events can now recruit the Pokémon attached to them without changing their console clock, Polygon reported, using a developer-made dream island that holds every item in the game.
Since Pokopia was released in March 2026 it has run a series of in-game events, each introducing new Pokémon: the entire Hoppip evolution line, Sableye and Jirachi have all been event exclusives, and Feebas and Milotic are available through the "Fetching Scales for Feebas" event. Players who could not log in during an event window, or who started playing after it closed, have had no legitimate way of recruiting those Pokémon afterwards.
The workaround has been "time travel" — setting the Nintendo Switch 2's date and time back to match the event. Pokopia is single-player, so the practice harms nobody, but it is technically cheating and sits outside the mechanics of the game itself.
How the dream island method works
A Pokopia player on Reddit going by ArcadiaCitizen_ found an alternative that needs only a Nintendo Switch Online membership. The steps, as described by Polygon:
- Buy the Mysterious Goggles from the shop on any Pokémon Center computer. Wearing them allows visits to another player's dream island, where items cannot be interacted with but can be photographed.
- Enter the code 6DXL PD6F to travel to an island built by the developers that contains every single item and Pokémon in Pokopia.
- Equip the camera with the minus button, then press Y to switch it to the mode that highlights specific items. Up to 20 items can be photographed at once.
- Return to the 3D printer in any Pokémon Center and print the habitat items, which costs Pokémetal and Rare Pokémetal but has no limit on quantity.
Building those habitats then draws the matching Pokémon. Polygon's writer had missed the "More Spores for Hoppip" event and so never got Skiploom or Jumpluff; the items from that event sit next to the Pokémon Center on the developers' island, and after photographing them and assembling the habitats in Palette Town, both Pokémon appeared almost immediately.
