According to Eurogamer, the new game from Her Story and Immortality maker Sam Barlow and his studio Half Mermaid is called Precognition. It is a sci-fi horror game that is set to release in spring 2028 as one of the debut games from Phasmophobia company Kinetic's new publishing label.
Eurogamer reports that Precognition is a game about scouring archives of video clips to solve a mystery, similar to Barlow's previous games. In Precognition, the archives are the future memories of the main character Diana, who received an experimental implant that allows her to see visions of her future.
As stated by Eurogamer, the game's set-up involves Diana being able to focus on moments within her future visions and commit them to memory, but this action sets off a butterfly effect that changes her future. The goal is to manipulate her memories to change the outcome.
Eurogamer notes that Precognition is being made in collaboration with horror filmmaker Brandon Cronenberg, who co-developed the story and wrote it alongside Barlow. Cronenberg is known for his films Infinity Pool, Possessor, and Antiviral.
