Developer Stuart’s Pixel Games has announced that its puzzle game Puzzledorf will release on Xbox on August 31, 2026, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The announcement was published on Xbox Wire. A demo is available now, and the full game can be pre-ordered or wishlisted on the Xbox store.
The Xbox version launches with a set of new levels called the Ruins puzzles, which add a match-three rule to the game’s Sokoban-style block pushing. Jewels of the same colour clear when three are matched, and clearing every jewel completes a level. A pushed jewel slides until it hits another object rather than stopping after one square, which changes how a level has to be set up and solved.
Those puzzles and their mechanics reach Xbox two weeks before they appear on other platforms, making the release a timed content exclusive rather than a platform exclusive — the game is already available elsewhere.
Achievements, accessibility and languages
The release also adds Xbox achievements. The developer says accessibility was a priority: Puzzledorf includes a colourblind mode and is built to teach its mechanics through play, with a difficulty curve intended to stay approachable for players who do not usually play puzzle games.
Localisation expands at launch as well, starting with German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese, with further languages to follow after release.
Writing on Xbox Wire, the developer also described the design process behind the game’s levels, which are prototyped in Puzzlescript — a free engine for block-pushing games — before being built out. The approach is question-driven, starting from prompts such as what a different level shape would do, or what happens if a block moves somewhere else.
Designing levels for Puzzledorf is about finding that sweet spot between challenge and accessibility, creating moments of satisfaction that bring players back for "just one more."
