Rainbow Six Siege's qualification series for the Osaka Major is under way, with Stage 2 tournaments running across seven esports regions through September and the first half of October, according to Esports.gg. The Major itself takes place from November 6 to 15 and features 20 teams.
Stage 2 events in every region serve as direct qualification pathways to Osaka, though the number of slots on offer differs between regions.
Format
Each region opens with a round-robin group stage of best-of-one matches, with the top six teams advancing to double-elimination playoffs played as best-of-threes. In the main regions those six playoff teams compete for four qualification places, which Esports.gg notes makes advancing out of the group stage the decisive hurdle.
Seven regions are running qualifiers: North America, Europe, South America, China, Asia-Pacific North, Asia-Pacific Asia and Asia-Pacific Oceania. The four main regions — North America, Europe, South America and China — have four qualification slots each, Asia-Pacific North has two, and Asia-Pacific Asia and Asia-Pacific Oceania have one apiece.
Placements also carry points toward the Six Invitational 2026. The top eight or nine finishers in a region earn SI points, with the top four awarded 420, 300, 250 and 200 points respectively.
How to watch
The official Rainbow Six Esports channels on YouTube and Twitch are streaming the Stage 2 Osaka Major qualifiers. Twitch drops run from September 3 to October 2, offering up to 66 esports packs and a chance at an exclusive Road to Osaka Glaz bundle.
Regional picture
Esports.gg identifies South America, Europe and North America as traditionally the strongest regions in Rainbow Six esports. Two recent official Major titles went to North American sides: M80 won the Munich Major in 2025, and DarkZero won the Salt Lake City Major in 2026, where Shopify Rebellion finished second.
In Europe and MENA, Falcons finished second at the Munich Major and third at the Six Invitational 2026, while G2 Esports did not qualify for the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026. Esports.gg describes the Europe MENA League as having underperformed relative to those earlier results.
