Resident Evil: Death Island, the 2023 CG animated film from Capcom, Quebico and TMS Entertainment, is being retold as a manga. Titan Comics will publish Resident Evil: Death Island Vol. 1 in the West on September 29 under its Titan Manga imprint, Polygon reports, in a 224-page black-and-white collection priced at $12.99.
The collection is not new material. The adaptation previously ran in serialized form on Kadokawa's Comic Hu platform, and the September release brings that run to Western readers in one volume. It is illustrated by the artist ZINO, also credited as Zino Kodakujii and Zi Nuo Ye, whose previous work includes Phantom Blade and Unity of Heaven.
Death Island is the fourth entry in Capcom's animated Resident Evil film line, and it is notable within the series for how many of the franchise's leads it puts on screen at once. Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield and Rebecca Chambers converge on Alcatraz Island, where separate investigations — a zombie outbreak and a new T-Virus in San Francisco, a kidnapped DARPA scientist, a monstrous fish killing whales in the bay — turn out to share a destination.

Polygon, which published an exclusive preview of the volume's interior pages, describes the book as a biopunk horror manga in the publisher's own words. The film itself remains available digitally and on DVD and Blu-ray for readers who want the original version first.
The wider Resident Evil slate
The manga lands in a busy stretch for the franchise outside of games. A new live-action Resident Evil film from Weapons director Zach Cregger reaches theaters on September 18, eleven days before the manga. On the game side, Capcom has a remake of the Dreamcast-era Code Veronica in development as Resident Evil: Veronica, due on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X sometime in 2027.
