A Roblox YouTuber known as Emathiio was tackled by security and removed from the Roblox Developers Conference after running onto the stage during CEO David Baszucki's keynote, Dexerto reported. He was wearing a shirt that read "kids deserve better" at the time, and PC Gamer reported that he shouted "We deserve better, don't we deserve better" as he took the stage.
RDC 2026 was held in San Jose from September 10 to 12. According to an event guide from Bloxy News cited by Dexerto, the invite-only conference included an opening keynote from Baszucki alongside creator presentations and announcements about the platform's future.
Footage that Emathiio reposted on X shows him heading toward the stage mid-presentation before security guards move in, take him to the ground in front of the audience and escort him out of the conference. The clip does not show how he reached the stage, and Dexerto said it was unclear whether he was an invited attendee or how he gained access to the area.
Baszucki played the incident off in the moment, PC Gamer reported, telling the audience: "We all get a little excited when RDC comes along, as we just saw." The outlet said footage of the stunt was shared by X user bearpuppyrbx, prompting a quote-repost from the creator himself, who wrote "just got kicked out #rdc26".
Roblox had not publicly commented on the incident at the time of Dexerto's September 11 report, and the outlet said there was no indication that Emathiio had been arrested. PC Gamer said on September 13 that it had contacted Roblox for comment.
On September 10, a day before the stage incident, Emathiio uploaded a video titled "roblox is completely unfixable." The video predates the interruption and does not document it. In it, he criticizes the company's direction, its relationship with its community and its ongoing problems with child safety, and explains why he believes the platform has failed its younger users. In a separate video uploaded the same day as the incident, PC Gamer reported, he explained the stunt, saying "My issue isn't with the people" and that "every single slow year of progress is just another year where children are actually affected."
The apparent protest comes amid continued criticism of Roblox's approach to child safety. Dexerto has previously reported on a petition calling for Baszucki's removal after backlash over the platform's handling of predators and inappropriate behavior. It has also covered Roblox's dispute with Schlep, a creator who recorded videos aimed at exposing alleged predators on the platform and who said Roblox contacted him months after banning him.
Roblox has introduced age checks, parental tools and new restrictions on communication between users, but it continues to face scrutiny from creators, parents and lawmakers, according to Dexerto. PC Gamer noted that the US Senate is actively investigating the platform. Dexerto also noted that Baszucki had previously told concerned parents not to let their children play Roblox if they were uncomfortable with the platform's risks.
