RuneScape: Dragonwilds will be on Xbox Game Pass from day one when it leaves early access on September 15, developer Jagex has announced, IGN reports.
Dragonwilds is the first standalone title in Jagex's long-running RuneScape MMORPG franchise and the first RuneScape game built for consoles. The open-world crafting and survival game sends players out solo or in teams of four across Ashenfall, a previously unexplored continent of Gielinor, on a quest to work out why untamed, transformative magic is spilling across the fractured land. Magic drawn from the anima-rich landscape supplies both combat spells and practical tools, and players level up skills, prepare potions and craft gear as they cut through the region's dragons on the way to the Dragon Queen herself.
The game has already sold more than 1 million copies during early access. Its 1.0 build bundles the brand-new Scorned Wilderness update together with all of the content from the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion, so the expansion's material arrives with the full release rather than after it.
Where Dragonwilds 1.0 launches on September 15
- PC: Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions via Steam, the Jagex Launcher and the Epic Games Store
- PlayStation 5: Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions, plus day-one inclusion on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium
- Xbox Series X and S: Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions, plus day-one inclusion on Xbox Game Pass
- Nintendo Switch 2: Digital Standard Edition
Physical Standard and Deluxe Editions are set to follow for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the fourth quarter of 2026. The PlayStation Plus placement was confirmed earlier, at Sony's State of Play showcase in June; the Game Pass announcement completes the pair, meaning the game will be included with a subscription on both platform holders' services the day it launches.
Microsoft has yet to detail the rest of its September Game Pass slate. The only other addition confirmed for the month so far is Shelldiver, which reaches Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass on September 1 across cloud, console and PC.
