Shape of Dreams, the co-op action roguelite from developer Lizard Smoothie and publisher NEOWIZ, launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 17, according to posts on the PlayStation Blog and Xbox Wire. The Xbox version was included in Xbox Game Pass from launch.
Both console versions arrived alongside The Starless Path, the game's first-anniversary update, which the studio described as the largest update it has made. Shape of Dreams first launched on Steam in September 2025, and the developers said more than 1.5 million players have entered the game since. Lizard Smoothie developer Eunseop Shim wrote on the PlayStation Blog that the improvements made over that year are already built into the PS5 release.
What The Starless Path adds
The update introduces a new playable Traveler, Cetus, a ranged character built around frost who can freeze the battlefield, raise large glaciers and shield himself and nearby allies. The developers said he can be built either as a back-line burst-damage caster or as a melee bruiser.
A new system called The Way of Stars links each Traveler's episodes together like a constellation, unlocking illustrations, exclusive emotes and hidden stories. Players who progress far enough reach a new ending and a new final boss, which the studio said is the toughest in the game. The update also adds six shared Identity Memories that can replace a Traveler's own passive, and gives existing bosses harder attack patterns at higher difficulties.
Console versions
According to the Xbox Wire post, the console releases also include changes made over the past year on PC: Limbo, an endgame difficulty above Nightmare; new shrines and rewards for steering a build; an overhaul of critical strike mechanics; and a broad balance pass on the game's abilities.
The game features nine Travelers with distinct weapons and abilities and more than 200 Memories and Essences, the ability and modifier pieces players combine during runs. It can be played solo or in online co-op for up to four players, and cross-play is supported at launch, with PS5 lobbies shared with PC and other consoles. A console bonus costume, Crimson Flash Lacerta, is available to all Xbox players, including Game Pass members, at no extra cost.
