Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer has stepped down from Ninjas in Pyjamas' active roster to make way for a new in-game leader, the organisation has announced. HLTV reported that the move came by mutual agreement between the two sides.
The announcement follows an HLTV report that first revealed the Swedish organisation was scouting the market for in-game leaders, as well as for a player to take the place of stand-in Roman "n0te" Hamze. That report also said Snappi was open to moving into a new role after a playing career spanning nearly two decades. The 36-year-old has yet to comment publicly.
In charge since the start of 2025
Snappi had led Ninjas in Pyjamas for more than a year and a half, taking over the in-game leader role from Alejandro "alex" Masanet at the beginning of 2025.
The team's biggest Big Event result under him was a quarter-final finish at PGL Astana that year. Smaller titles followed at Fragadelphia Las Vegas, the HyperX Roman Imperium Cup VI and Stake Ranked Episode 2. Consistent tier-one form proved harder to find: Ninjas in Pyjamas spent most of Snappi's tenure below the top-20 threshold of the Valve Regional Standings.
Once known for fragging well for an in-game leader, the Dane also saw his individual output fall away, averaging a 0.83 rating against top-20 opposition over that period.
The roster now
With Snappi listed as benched, Ninjas in Pyjamas' lineup reads Rasmus "sjuush" Beck, Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara, Martin "stavn" Lund and Roman "n0te" Hamze, who is playing as a stand-in. That leaves four names and two open questions: who calls the game, and who holds the fifth slot permanently.
The HLTV report that preceded the announcement said the organisation was in the market for both — an in-game leader, and a player to take over the position n0te currently occupies. No replacement for either role was named alongside Snappi's removal.
