Team South Korea won the Overwatch World Cup 2026, beating Team Saudi Arabia 4-1 in a Grand Final played on the BlizzCon 2026 stage. According to figures Blizzard Entertainment shared with esports.gg, the Finals weekend was the most-watched World Cup in Overwatch history.
Blizzard said the Grand Final reached 401,068 peak viewers and more than 10 million hours of watch time.
How the final played out
Both finalists came through the Playoffs Stage, where the field included teams such as Sweden and France. In the Grand Final, Saudi Arabia opened by taking the first map, Nepal. South Korea answered on Neon Junction and then won New Junk City, Route 66 and Esperança in succession to close out the series 4-1.
The final carried some pre-match needle. Before the series, Saudi Arabia's Abdualziz "TVNT" Altmimi traded words with South Korea's Choi "MAX" Su-min and predicted a 4-0 result for his side. MAX returned to the rivalry in the post-match interview on stage.
Representing our home country, we knew that we had to get this win. We had to bring the trophy home. It really feels great to win. And also — KSA isn't that great.
Teammate Park "JunBin" Jun-bin credited the squad's preparation, saying the team had put in a lot of work to earn the win and that playing in the World Cup had been fun.
The rest of BlizzCon's esports slate
The Overwatch final shared the weekend with several other Blizzard championships. Liquid Guild won the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International 2026, while Gators Back took the WoW Arena World Championship 2026.
In Hearthstone, OTGxhh became the 2026 Hearthstone World Champion, defeating Wu "XiaoT" Juwei to take the title.
BlizzCon also hosted the BlizzCon Classic Cup 2026, an exhibition event built around StarCraft, StarCraft 2, Warcraft 3 and Heroes of the Storm that mixed entertainment and legacy matches. Team Tasteless won the overall competition against Team Artosis, esports.gg reported.
