Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is approaching the end of its Year 2 content roadmap, and Patch 14 is set to close out that chapter in style. Saber Interactive has confirmed a Q3 2026 release window across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Public Test Server build expected in early July giving players an early look before the full rollout.
What Patch 14 Adds
The update is the most substantive since Patch 13, touching both competitive and PvE pillars of the game. Two new PvP arenas are confirmed for the multiplayer side, expanding the Eternal War mode's map pool for the first time in several months. On the PvE front, a new Terminus-class enemy joins the roster — the highest-tier threat category in Operations — demanding coordinated team play to bring down. Weapon variety gets a meaningful boost as well. Six heroic weapons are confirmed for Patch 14, part of the second wargear update on the Year 2 roadmap. Heroic weapons carry enhanced stat profiles and distinct visual treatments compared to their standard counterparts, and their addition has been one of the more requested progression features from the community. Cosmetic offerings round out the patch, with new heroic cosmetics alongside two paid additions tied to Season Pass 2: the Salamanders Champion Pack 2 and the Raptors Cosmetic Pack. Players without the Season Pass can still access the core gameplay additions at no extra cost.
The End of Year 2
Developers have formally described Patch 14 as the final update on the Year 2 Battle Plan, making this a milestone moment for the game's post-launch trajectory. What comes next — whether a Year 3 roadmap, a content pause, or something else — has not been announced. The confirmation that this closes out Year 2 suggests Saber Interactive is drawing a deliberate line under the current content cycle before any potential next phase.
Release Timing and Platforms
The Q3 2026 window covers PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The Public Test Server phase, opening in early July, will let players flag issues before the patch goes live to the full player base — a practice the studio has used for previous major updates. No details on balance changes or additional mode adjustments have been confirmed ahead of PTS access, where the full patch notes are expected to surface. Patch 14 represents the cap on a year of substantial post-launch investment in Space Marine 2. With new PvP maps, a dangerous Terminus addition, and a fresh batch of heroic weapons, the update is positioned as a meaningful send-off to Year 2 rather than a maintenance release. Whether Saber Interactive has a Year 3 plan waiting in the wings remains to be seen — but for now, the focus is on a Q3 landing and getting players onto the PTS in July.
