Spirit have taken the eighth and final place at the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 Finals in Malta, beating 100 Thieves 2-1 to close out an online stage that eliminated most of the tournament's highest-ranked entrants.
The series went the distance. Spirit trailed 10-6 on Anubis before recovering to win 13-11 behind a run of CT holds, then lost Mirage 13-4 as William "sirah" Kjaersgaard dominated the A site for 100 Thieves, ending an eight-map Spirit winning streak on the map.
The decider belonged to Danil "donk" Kryshkovets. He opened Dust2 with a 1v3, stood at 16 kills to four deaths by the seventh round, and finished a 13-0 win on a career-high 2.84 rating.
Boris "magixx" Vorobiev said the Mirage defeat had worked as a wake-up call before the decider, and put the wider trouble top teams ran into during the online stage down to the unfamiliar approaches of lower-ranked opponents.
When you're playing T1, everyone plays the same CS, you get used to it.
Spirit are the only side ranked inside the world top ten to reach the LAN stage. Falcons, Vitality and FURIA were all eliminated online, as were the reworked Aurora and G2 rosters, leaving world number 11 MOUZ as the second-highest ranked team travelling to Malta.
The MongolZ came through after their own roster changes, while FaZe qualified with VRS points in mind having missed the Cologne Major. Astralis advanced under new coach Filip "NEO" Kubski, paiN and 3DMAX also made it, and Liquid closed their run by beating both Vitality and G2 2-0 with new in-game leader Johnny "JT" Theodosiou and AWPer Georgi "Jorko" Mitev.
