Stars Reach, a sandbox MMORPG, has officially entered early access, according to MassivelyOP. The game, spearheaded by MMORPG veteran Raph Koster, has been in development for seven years, including five years before it was first showcased two years ago.
MassivelyOP reports that the game features deep social, political, and crafting content, and allows players to terraform, populate, and transform every cubic meter of the galaxy. Players can build trade empires, tame wild fauna, and create a functioning government for an entire planet.
The game's developer, Playable Worlds, describes Stars Reach as a game where players can carve rivers, melt stone into lava, harness ecological disasters, or burn entire planets to ash, in a universe shaped by the permanence of players' actions.
