Riot Games released Teamfight Tactics patch 18.2 on September 10, the second update to Set 18: Enchanted Wilds. The patch raises the power of cheap units, trims the cost of Combat Wisps and reworks parts of the set economy, according to patch notes published by Riot and reported by Esports.gg.

Riot framed the update as a correction to the cost curve the set opened with. According to the patch rundown, the first patch left several viable 4-cost units while the options around them were left behind, and Tim "Truexy" Jiang explained how that happened.

We had a bunch of small changes, mainly nerfing Cassio and Cinderling, with very tiny nerfs to the 4-costs, and then suddenly a lot of things got exposed, which is like, "Hey, these cost buckets, 1, 2, and 5-costs, aren't that good." Everyone is a lot poorer when units are not as strong, which means that you kind of have to commit early because you don't have the money to switch to a new comp.

Champion changes

Akali, Camille, Leona, Varus, Warwick and Yunara are among the champions buffed in 18.2. Leona's mana cost drops from 40/100 to 30/90 and her decaying resistances rise from 60/70/80/100 to 60/80/100/130, while Varus gains ability damage at all four tiers and Yunara's ability damage climbs from 150/225/335/570 AD to 160/240/370/630 AD. Warwick's base attack damage goes from 40 to 45.

Rengar, Sentinel and Master Yi take nerfs. Riot also adjusted the Coven Acolyte and Magic Roll augments and the Edge of Night item, and cut the cost of many Combat Wisps.

Systems and traits

The economy changes reach the level curve directly. Experience required to reach levels 8, 9 and 10 falls: level 7 to 8 drops from 60 to 56, and both the level 8 and level 9 steps drop from 68 to 64.

Traits move alongside them. Blackthorn gains health at its second and third breakpoints, moving from 175/300/550 to 175/350/600, while its tank sacrifice resistances fall from 15 to 12. Coven cashouts at the 185, 250 and 365 essence tiers were rebuilt around larger gold payouts, and every Fae Golden Pixie breakpoint was lowered. Hunter's targeting duration for its damage amp drops from four seconds to three, Rapidfire's attack speed per attack falls at its upper tiers, and Inferno's burn rises at its third and fourth breakpoints.

According to the rundown, the patch also carries nerfs to emblems, artifacts and augments alongside the economy work.
