The Division 2 names Echoes of Central Park DLC and dates crossplay

Ubisoft Massive used Gamescom 2026 to name the shooter's next expansion and confirm cross-platform play for November.

Ubisoft Massive made a run of announcements for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 at Gamescom 2026, naming the shooter's next downloadable expansion, committing to cross-platform play and sketching the season that follows. MassivelyOP reported the announcements on August 27, 2026.

The expansion is called Echoes of Central Park and takes players to the New York landmark in answer to a distress call that has gone dark. Ubisoft Massive had promised early details of the DLC ahead of the show, but did not describe what the content includes, saying only that it has a darker atmosphere and a major focus on terror and fear. A showcase set for September 24 is to carry more specific information.

The second announcement was cross-platform play, which Ubisoft Massive said is coming to the game in November. MassivelyOP reported that enabling crossplay required extensive changes to the game's backend architecture. Crossplay will be enabled by default once it is live and can be turned off, and clans will allow a maximum of 100 players, which MassivelyOP said is intended to accommodate the additional players crossplay is expected to bring.

The studio also previewed the next season, which brings back the Black Tusk faction and hints at a White Tusk, and takes in endgame adjustments: more player control over the difficulty and rewards of escalations, and a rework of prototype gear. Ubisoft Massive said more detailed information on the season would follow later.

The game's current content, Season 3: Red Horizon, is live. It adds the flamethrower-carrying Cleaners as an enemy faction on the Washington, D.C. map, along with new modifiers, changes to gear and the Determined talent, and a set of dark zone adjustments that include a permanent PvE dark zone and a new PvP dark zone, plus further new gear and other gameplay updates.
