The Division 2 opens an incursion and confirms permanent PvE dark zones

This week's patch adds a four-player mini-raid at Steel Creek Dam, and Year 8 Season 3 makes PvE dark zones permanent.

The Division 2's latest patch has opened a new incursion for teams of four, alongside a set of additional content, MassivelyOP reports.

The mini-raid sends players against the Rikers at the Steel Creek Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, where they have to clear out the threats and the enemy leaders holding the power station before a hurricane wrecks it. A new exotic rifle is among the rewards available inside the instance.

What else is in the patch

  • A new event pass
  • Unlocked stretch goals for the ongoing Into the Dark season pass
  • A new climax mission, with an exotic SMG for clearing it on master difficulty
  • PvP updates covering set bonus balancing and loot drops inside dark zones

Year 8 Season 3

The developers also held a livestream setting out the next season's features. The Cleaners enemy group arrives on the Washington, D.C. map, with more of them spawning as the season progresses, and new gear is planned alongside them.

The studio confirmed that PvE dark zones will remain permanent and will no longer apply PvP stats normalization. A further dark zone variant called Blackout was also detailed: it features invasions and drops PvP stat normalization, but keeps PvP balancing in place.

Written and video summaries of the livestream have been published on Reddit and by the YouTube channel RogueGold.
