The Duskbloods network test results are live for applicants

FromSoftware's Switch 2 multiplayer game runs its closed test later this month, with download codes issued from August 18.

Applicants for The Duskbloods network test can now find out whether they were selected. Video Games Chronicle reports that applications opened on July 22 and that participants have been chosen, with results posted on the network test website rather than sent out by email.

GameSpot sets out the steps: applicants open the network test site, use the three-line menu at the top right of the page to reach the "Account" section, and read the outcome on their personal page, which states the result either way. Successful applicants can retrieve a download code from the same site from 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 18.

When the test runs

The two outlets describe the window slightly differently — Video Games Chronicle places the test between August 21 and 24, while GameSpot lists five sessions spread across August 21 to 23:

  • Friday, August 21: 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. PT / 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET
  • Friday, August 21: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET
  • Saturday, August 22: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT / 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET
  • Sunday, August 23: 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. PT / 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET
  • Sunday, August 23: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET

Both the game and the test are exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, and participants need an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to take part. Video Games Chronicle notes that a new trailer accompanied the network test announcement last month.

A rare look at a multiplayer FromSoftware game

GameSpot notes that comparatively little has been said about The Duskbloods since its reveal more than a year ago, which makes the test the first substantial hands-on for players outside the studio. Video Games Chronicle points back to comments director Hidetaka Miyazaki made in April 2024, when he said the game's online focus did not signal a change of direction for FromSoftware.

As previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn't mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style.

The Duskbloods is still expected to launch in 2026. No release date has been announced.
