Twelve Teams, One Regional Path
Thunderpick's Counter-Strike 2 championship continues its regional rollout with the South America Series 1, following completed North American and European Series 1 events earlier in the cycle. Seeding for the 12-team field was determined through the VRS (Valve Regional Standings) system rather than open qualifiers, with the region's rosters split between a direct route to the Playoffs and an eight-team Group Stage.
Four Teams Skip Straight to the Playoffs
ShindeN, Fluxo, Bounty Hunters, and Fake do Biru earned outright Playoff invitations based on their VRS standing, sparing them the group stage the rest of the region's contenders face. Fluxo arrive with a roster built around kye, exit, and dav1deuS.
Group Stage Draws Set
The remaining eight teams were split into two four-team groups to contest the Playoff spots left open by the direct invites. Group A features LargadosyPelados, Isurus, MIBR Academy, and Vasco eSports. Group B brings together Keyd Stars, UNO MILLE, Game Hunters, and Yawara E-Sports.
Why VRS Seeding Matters Here
By using VRS standings instead of a traditional qualifier bracket, Thunderpick is seeding South America Series 1 on teams' existing regional results over the qualifying window rather than a clean-slate run. Group-stage teams still have a competitive path to reach the same Playoff stage as the directly invited squads.

South America Series 1 is one piece of a larger qualification structure feeding into the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 main event, set for October 12-19 in Malta.
