Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed via the PlayStation Store which titles leave the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus next month. Nine games are on the list, and following the service's usual schedule they will be removed on the third Tuesday of the month, August 18. That gives subscribers roughly three weeks to start, or finish, anything on it.

- Earth Defense Force 6
- Unicorn Overlord
- Harold Halibut
- Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
- Onee Chanbara Origin
- Space Crew: Legendary Edition
- Bomber Crew
- Roki
What is worth clearing time for
Unicorn Overlord is the most prominent name on the list. Atlus released the Vanillaware-developed tactical role-playing game in 2024 to broad critical acclaim, and it became the studio's fastest-selling title. Polygon points to its layered systems and battle design as the draw, and suggests players who like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics will find the most in it, even if the story is the weaker element.
Harold Halibut is the other standout. The 2024 adventure game drew attention before release for its hand-crafted stop-motion visuals, which contributed to a development cycle of roughly ten years. Polygon describes its world as charmingly odd and its story as emotionally weighty.
Dead Island 2 rounds out the notable exits. Polygon's assessment is that the zombie action RPG already felt dated when it launched in 2023, but that its moment-to-moment combat still delivers a straightforward kind of fun worth sampling before it goes.
The rest of the list runs across genres and eras. Earth Defense Force 6 and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos are the largest of the remaining departures, with Onee Chanbara Origin, the narrative adventure Roki, and the pair of management sims Bomber Crew and Space Crew: Legendary Edition making up the balance.
Subscribers can find the outgoing titles in the "Last chance to play" section at the bottom of the collections tab in the PlayStation Plus menu. Games removed from the catalogue remain playable for anyone who has bought them separately, and a removal from the Extra and Premium tiers does not affect ownership.
