Riot Games released the Aeris collection in Valorant on Tuesday, August 18, a 9,500 VP bundle built around cards and stage magic whose headline feature is an accessory that can produce League of Legends Riftbound trading cards, PCGamesN reported.
The bundle contains the Suit of Aeris melee, skins for the Vandal, Bandit, Marshal and Guardian, a Flex, a player card and a gun buddy. Individual items become available separately, but the bundle is the only way to claim the full collection at its listed price.
The Flex and the Riftbound cards
The Flex is included purely for looks. When activated, the player's character shuffles a deck and produces a card, and there is a 10 percent chance that the card is one of six Riftbound cards from League of Legends. PCGamesN says it does not know which six cards are in the pool, and notes that the accessory has no effect on a round beyond filling the dead time between them.
Skins and animations
The melee is the centrepiece and changes form across its attack animations, according to Dot Esports: a dagger on the first primary attack, a sword on the second and third, and a greatsword on the fourth and on the alternate attack, with each swing turning the weapon into a magical card. The equip animation uses spinning cards that resolve into the dagger, and the inspect animation has cards float around the weapon before merging into it.
The four gun skins share the collection's cardistry-inspired style, with a card-themed reload, a custom equip animation and an inspect sequence in which energy moves through a set of magical cards. Weapons are produced and reloaded with a flourish and enemies die in a hail of playing cards. The collection's finisher surrounds the eliminated player with floating cards that then fly in and strike, darkening the area before an explosion sends a pillar of energy into the sky over ethereal ambient music.
