Vana'Bout returns to Final Fantasy XI for a tenth round on August 21, and Square Enix has moved its daily start time seven hours later to make the cooperative event easier to take part in. Round 10 runs from 8:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, August 21 to 7:59 a.m. PDT on Monday, September 7.
Vana'Bout pools contributions from players across every World: adventurers complete objectives for plaudits, and the total from all Worlds is measured against a target. Square Enix has raised the target for hitting 100% slightly this round.
Objective changes
The event's start time moves from 1:00 a.m. PDT to 8:00 a.m. PDT. New daily and time-based objectives have been added, and the listed descriptions of some existing objectives were rewritten without changing their contents or difficulty. Square Enix has also minimised how much the daily objective list varies from one day to the next: Hunting, Kupo!, which asks players to defeat a set number of experience-yielding enemies outside Abyssea for 20 plaudits, is now available every day of the event, while This Chain Shall Not Be Broken, which requires an experience point chain bonus of 5 for 30 plaudits, comes round once every two days.
Rewards
The personal reward line-up has been revised, with three Kupon I-Amb added to the Silver Tier selections. Each kupon can be redeemed for one of a long list of Ambuscade items: weapon vouchers and head, body, hand, leg, foot and ring chits, back and replica vouchers, weapon upgrade materials such as Abdhaljs Nuggets, Gems, Anima and Matter in fives, armour materials in the form of 15 Abdhaljs Metal or 15 Abdhaljs Fiber, cape materials including 20 Abdhaljs Thread or Dust, and an Abdhaljs seal.
Overall reward tiers
- 100% of the plaudit goal adds an Ambuscade Point Bonus Campaign to September's monthly campaigns and grants 10,000 exemplar points or 10,000 experience points, claimed from the Coordinator Moogle in Mhaura at G-8 once Vana'Bout ends.
- 125% adds a way to acquire a Demonic Axe from the Curator Moogle.
- 150% adds a new Phantom Gem Campaign, letting players take one Phantom Gem of their choice per Earth day from the available list, excluding gems they already hold.
The rewards claimed from the Coordinator Moogle are time-limited, so players who hit the 100% tier need to collect them before the window closes.
