Virtus.pro has disbanded its Dota 2 roster following The International 2026, closing out a season in which the organization failed to reach the tournament for a third consecutive year. Dot Esports reports that the club announced the decision after the team's results fell short of the expectations of the organization, its fans and the players themselves.
We appreciate the work the team has put in during this time, but believe that changes are necessary in the current situation. Therefore, the club has decided to part ways with the current roster.

The roster took shape in September of last year, when Virtus.pro signed the former Shopify Rebellion core of Fly, Abed and SaberLight after missing The International for a second straight season. According to Dot Esports, the veteran captain and his teammates never found consistency at tier-one events.
The team's best result was a seventh-eighth place finish at DreamLeague Season 27. It finished last at FISSURE Playground 2 and failed to reach the playoffs at both ESL One Birmingham and PGL Wallachia Season 8.
A third straight TI miss
Virtus.pro's season ended in the European qualifier for The International 2026. The team reached the upper bracket qualifying match but lost 1-2 to TEAM VISION, who went on to finish as runners-up at the event, then fell 1-2 to HULIGANI in the lower bracket decider. Team Spirit won that International, becoming the first organization to claim a third Aegis of Champions.
The lineup's final outing was the Esports World Cup 2026, where it exited in the Survival Stage after a loss to Rune Eaters.
Despite the disband, Virtus.pro said it is not leaving Dota 2. The organization, which has competed in the game since 2012 and holds a record five Major titles without an International win, said it would keep working toward a team capable of competing at the highest level.
