Visionary Realms introduced a set of iconic abilities for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen's classes in a May 14 community post signed by creative director Chris 'Joppa' Perkins. The studio said the list is partial and that further abilities will be added over the following weeks and months, with animations rolling out alongside them.
The stated purpose is class identity. Perkins described the abilities as central to making each role feel necessary and to ensuring no class overlaps another into redundancy, with groups built around interdependence rather than parallel damage output. Several of the abilities are utility that unlocks movement or access for the whole party rather than combat power for the caster.
Abilities by class
The Cleric gets Celestial Aegis, an ethereal shield that blocks enemies and incoming projectiles, and Coalescence, which links the Cleric's vitality to a wounded ally and raises that ally's health to match their own. The Dire Lord's Call of the Dire forces an enemy to stop resisting and walk toward its death.
The Druid can summon a localized storm with Conjure Storm, unsettling enemies while empowering allies, and grow a Vinewoven Bridge across gaps the group otherwise cannot cross. The Enchanter's Squee's Mimicry disguises the caster as a nearby object such as a barrel or crate, while Charm and Dire Charm convert an enemy into either a temporary pet or a permanent one.
- Monk: Monk Gates unlock buffs and abilities that shift the Monk's combat profile; Chi Burn trades the Monk's own vitality for a burst of offense
- Paladin: Sense Undead reveals undead targets; Lightful Avenger consumes corruption from undead foes to empower the Paladin's strikes
- Ranger: Kaylen's Command turns a wild beast into a temporary ally
- Rogue: Length of Rope lets allies climb otherwise unreachable heights; Lockpicking opens locked doors and chests; Pick Pocketing steals coin and trinkets from enemies
- Shaman: Veil Walking sacrifices the spirit pet so that on death the Shaman roams as a spectral wolf, healing allies and moving their own corpse to safety; Shrink reduces a companion's size to fit through tight spaces
- Warrior: Shield Wall links shields with another player to taunt enemies and halve damage; Battering Ram charges through weakened barriers to open paths
- Wizard: Dragonfire Bomb throws a slow-moving fiery orb that burns enemies along its path before exploding
Perkins tied the individual powers back to group play, using the example of a Druid bridging a chasm and a Warrior's Shield Wall keeping the party alive once across it. He said the abilities are meant to make a group more than the sum of its members, and invited players to try them in game and send feedback.
Thank you for believing in a game where every class matters, and every adventure is shared.
