Blizzard has published a class tuning roadmap for World of Warcraft's Midnight Season 2, with the first pass scheduled for August 18, Wowhead reports. Planned changes will be applied with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region.
The roadmap accompanies Curse of Ula'tek, the first major content update for Midnight, which brings a broad set of class updates along with the opening of the Coiled Isle and its new challenges. Blizzard said it will monitor class performance across the Venomous Abyss, Mythic Keystone dungeons, PvP, Delves and other endgame activities, using a combination of internal data and player feedback to identify targeted adjustments while preserving the strengths and gameplay identity of each specialisation.
Season 2 starts on August 18, when Normal, Heroic and Mythic difficulties of the Venomous Abyss open and the new Mythic+ and PvP season begins. Further adjustments are expected after the first full week of live Season 2 data.
The currently planned dates are:
- August 18 - Midnight Season 2 begins
- August 25 - first week of Season 2 tuning
- September 1 - second week of Season 2 tuning
- September 22 - fifth week of Season 2 tuning
Early progression tuning will generally be conservative, Blizzard said, especially before Ula'tek has been defeated on Mythic difficulty, to avoid unnecessary disruption to competitive progression. If unhealthy trends emerge, the team said it would develop tuning changes quickly to keep the start of the season equitable, then make broader adjustments once more representative data is available and schedule additional check-in passes through the season.
The dates are subject to change, and classes can still be adjusted by hotfix at any time for disruptive bugs or tuning problems. Blizzard expects roughly four more tuning passes between September 22 and the start of Season 3, with those dates still to be determined.
