Blizzard has published a round of World of Warcraft class tuning scheduled for the weekly reset, Wowhead reported, with the changes aimed mainly at specializations that are underperforming in Mythic+, raids and PvP. The developers said they are also using the pass to narrow gaps between hero talent trees so that more builds are competitive.
Augmentation Evoker receives targeted buffs to parts of its kit that Blizzard said contribute less of the spec's damage than intended: Eruption damage rises by 15%, Fire Breath by 60%, Upheaval by 40% and Blistering Scales by 100%. Devastation Evoker gets PvE-only area-damage buffs, including 50% increases to Azure Strike and Azure Sweep and 25% to Unbound Flame. Blizzard said it expects that package to help Flameshaper more than Scalecommander, which has been outperforming it.
Hero talent adjustments
Several hero talent trees that Blizzard described as trailing their alternatives are being raised. Aldrachi Reaver gets stronger core effects for both Demon Hunter specs, including a 25% increase to Reaver's Glaive damage for Havoc and 30% for Vengeance. Retribution Paladin's Templar tree gains 50% Hammer of Light damage in PvE, Subtlety Rogue's Trickster gains 50% on Unseen Blade and 30% on Coup de Grace, and Mountain Thane Warriors receive 50% increases to Lightning Strike and Ground Current for both Fury and Protection.
Not every change is a buff. Blood Death Knight's San'layn tree loses 6% on all ability damage, which Blizzard said reflects area damage well above its target for tanks, while Death Strike damage rises 25% to lift the spec's single-target output. Survival Hunter's Wildfire Bomb deals 20% more damage overall but a smaller bonus to its primary target, a change the developers described as neutral against one enemy and a gain in multi-target fights.
- Discipline Priest: Atonement healing increased by 40% outside raids and battlegrounds, and Penance mana cost reduced by 20%.
- Shadow Priest: Mind Blast, Void Blast, Shadow Word: Death and other single-target spells deal 15% more damage.
- Frost Death Knight: Frostreaper damage doubled and Obliterate damage up 10% in PvE.
- Monk: Mistweaver healing up 5%, and Windwalker auto-attack damage up 25% in PvE.
- Mage: Fire and Frost buffs aimed mainly at Mythic+, including a 100% increase to Meteor's damage over time.
PvP changes
The PvP section reduces Restoration Druid's burst healing, cutting Swiftmend healing by 20% in PvP and making Call of Ohn'ahra add 60 seconds to Nature's Swiftness' cooldown, up from 30. Survival Hunter's burst window is also trimmed through reductions to Takedown and Moonlight Chakram. Elemental Shaman's Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst gain damage while its Voltaic Blaze and Purging Flames combination is reduced, Shadow Word: Death gains 30% damage for Shadow Priests, and Augmentation's Ebon Might now grants 12% primary stat in PvP, up from 10%.
