WoW hotfix cuts Ula'tek's Stone Venom damage by 40% on all difficulties

Blizzard's September 21 patch 12.1 hotfixes also correct Evoker's Unravel and three encounter bugs in The Venomous Abyss.

Blizzard posted a round of patch 12.1 hotfixes for World of Warcraft on September 21, led by a nerf to Ula'tek that applies on every difficulty, Wowhead reported. The boss's Stone Venom damage has been reduced by 40%, a change Wowhead's headline ties to the weekly reset.

Two further changes land on the same encounter. Boiling Venom is now an Important Aura on Mythic difficulty, and Blizzard fixed a case in which Stone Venom could fail to inflict damage on players standing far from Ula'tek.

The Venomous Abyss and Evoker fixes

Ula'tek sits in The Coiled Altar, part of The Venomous Abyss, and the wing picked up three more corrections in the same pass. Blizzard resolved a rare issue in which Toxic Deluge would fail to create Coalesced Venoms and Virulent Mutations, a second rare case in which Fangs of the Crucible and Defilement of the Crucible would not create area denial on both halves of the platform, and an issue that allowed pets to engage Zul'jan during the roleplay.

On the class side, Evoker took two corrections to Unravel. The ability had been failing to activate when Fire Breath was cast with Tip the Scales, and in some cases was not hitting every target struck by Fire Breath. Both were listed as fixed.

Blizzard also addressed a dungeon problem outside the raid. Following Lindormi's Guidance in Den of Nalorakk and Altar of Fangs could end a run short of the enemy forces requirement, which the hotfix corrects.
