Blizzard deployed a round of World of Warcraft patch 12.1 hotfixes on September 23 that corrected a bug in the Unholy Death Knight ability Blightfall, producing a substantial single-target damage increase for the specialization.
Wowhead reported that Blightfall had been dealing less damage as more time passed since its plague was applied, and that Blizzard has now resolved the issue. Wowhead put the effect at a 12 percent single-target gain from the bug fix alone, and 15 percent compared with the previous week. Area-of-effect damage rose 6 percent from the fix and 7 percent week over week.
The gap followed a recent class tuning pass in which Blizzard buffed Blightfall. According to Wowhead, that buff did not land as intended because the ability was bugged, so the hotfix delivers the tuning change and the correction together.
Wowhead separated the two effects in its figures. The 12 percent single-target and 6 percent area-of-effect numbers cover the bug fix on its own, while the 15 percent and 7 percent comparisons measure the specialization against where it stood a week earlier, before the class tuning pass landed.
Two other entries accompanied the Death Knight change. Windwalker Monk had PvP adjustments to Celestial Conduit and Flurry Strikes applying in PvE as well, which Blizzard fixed. In Delves, an issue left the companion Valeera unable to change talents or gain abilities after a character faction change.

Blizzard added a workaround for players already affected by the Delves bug: enter a delve on the affected character, leave the delve, and then log out to correct the issue.
