World of Warcraft's Patch 12.1 has reset the gear quests attached to Midnight's Renown factions and raised what they award to item level 279, Wowhead reports. Players who already claimed the rewards in Season 1 can run them again.
Each of the expansion's four primary Renown factions hands out a single piece at a set rank:
- Silvermoon Court — Rank 9, helm
- Amani Tribe — Rank 9, neck
- Hara'ti — Rank 8, belt
- The Singularity — Rank 7, trinket
The practical effect is a gearing head start rather than a new grind: the ranks are unchanged, and the reset simply reopens quests that were previously one-time rewards at a higher item level than they gave before.
Wowhead singles out the trinket in particular. Crucible of Erratic Energies, from The Singularity, was one of Season 1's stronger trinkets, and the site expects it to remain a solid starter option going into Season 2.
The change is live on the patch as reported; Blizzard has not published separate notes for the reset beyond the in-game behavior Wowhead documented.
