Wuthering Waves 3.6 adds two story chapters and two banner characters

Version 3.6, Lamplight in Mirage, Swords Resolve in Heart, splits Quingxiao and Jingran across two phases and reworks the in-game mailbox.

Wuthering Waves has released Version 3.6, titled Lamplight in Mirage, Swords Resolve in Heart, MassivelyOP reported. The update leads with story content and two new characters, and rounds out with a set of quality-of-life changes to the systems players touch every day.

The headline additions are two main story quests. Chapter IV Act III, "Song of the Heart Sword," and Chapter IV Segue, "The Nethermancer's Requiem," both go live with the patch, continuing the game's fourth chapter rather than opening a new one.

Two characters, split across phases

Two new characters and their weapons arrive on the banner, and they are not available at the same time. Quingxiao leads the update in phase one, with Jingran following in phase two. Both come with new outfit accessories, which MassivelyOP lists among the update's additions alongside the characters themselves.

The split matters for anyone budgeting pulls. The two characters share a patch cycle but not a banner window, so a player chasing both has to spread resources across the whole of Version 3.6 rather than commit them in a single phase.

The rest of the content drop is spread across the systems around the roster. Version 3.6 adds new echoes, a new tactical hologram, and a list of limited-time events running over the patch cycle.

Quality-of-life changes

MassivelyOP flagged three refinements shipping with the patch:

  • Refined recommendations for echo equipment
  • A larger in-game mailbox
  • A new mail collection feature, aimed at mail accidentally marked for deletion

The mail change is the most pointed of the three. Gacha games deliver rewards, apology compensation and event currency through the mailbox, and a message cleared by mistake is not straightforward to recover, so a collection step that catches deletions closes a gap players have to work around by hand.

MassivelyOP noted that it had already covered the update's contents in earlier reporting, and framed this write-up as a reminder for players who follow Wuthering Waves more casually and pick up a version at its release rather than ahead of it.
