Thirteen Ubisoft titles have been added to the Xbox console-to-PC program, which gives players who own a game on Xbox access to its PC version without a second purchase. The addition was announced on Xbox Wire and reported by PC Gamer.
The change takes effect immediately for new purchases: buying a digital copy of any of the listed games on Xbox from today also grants the Xbox on PC version. Players who already own one of the games will receive the PC version during what Xbox describes as a progressive rollout period beginning August 4.
The 13 games
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Far Cry 6
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
- Riders Republic
- Skull and Bones
- The Crew 2
- The Crew Motorfest
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Watch Dogs Legion
The list draws on Ubisoft’s recent catalog rather than its current releases. It spans the open-world entries Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Far Cry 6, the two most recent The Crew games, and live-service titles including Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Extraction and Skull and Bones.
What does not carry over
The entitlement comes with limits. Currencies and consumables bought in the Xbox version of a game are not included with the PC version, although titles that support cross-progression will carry across what a player has already earned. Ubisoft Connect must be updated to its latest version before the PC copies can be accessed.
The arrangement also runs in one direction only. Buying the PC version of one of the 13 games does not grant the Xbox edition in return, so the benefit applies solely to players whose purchases were made on console. PC Gamer notes that the asymmetry is likely to cause confusion.
