Ark Servers Closing

Official servers for Ark: Survival Evolved on Switch shut down August 31

According to GameSpot, the Switch version of Ark: Survival Evolved is ending its online support, with official servers shutting down on August 31, as announced by developer Studio Wildcard. The game has reached over a million players on Switch since its launch in 2018.

GameSpot reports that the Ultimate Survivor Edition, a remaster made by Grove Street Games, will also have its official servers closed. However, single-player modes and unofficial servers will remain available, allowing players to continue playing, albeit with potential inconsistencies in the online experience.

As stated by the developers, quoted in GameSpot, 'We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey.' Ahead of the shutdown, the game is available for $5 on the eShop, and the Ultimate Survivor Edition is marked down to $12.50. Both games are playable on Nintendo Switch 2 via backward compatibility.
