Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 has been delayed to early December, according to Polygon. The game was originally set to release on September 17, but will now launch on December 3, just two weeks after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. This move may not be a bad thing, as it avoids a crowded September release window that includes games like Control Resonant, Marvel's Wolverine, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.
The delay is intended to give the development team, King Art Games, extra time to incorporate fan feedback, fix bugs, and improve the game's performance, as explained by game director Jan Theysen in a video, as reported by Polygon. Theysen noted that the fan response from community play tests has been positive, but the team needs a bit more time to polish the experience.
The game's post-launch roadmap is also being revised, with major updates, including Crusade Mode, Mission Editor, and map packs, pushed to 2027, according to Polygon. The Blood Ravens Story Prologue DLC will arrive in spring, and the Aftermath campaign expansion will be released in the summer. At launch, the game will feature four factions: Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus, Necrons, and Orks.
