According to IGN, Microsoft is releasing a new limited-edition controller decked out with Gears of War: E-Day imagery to coincide with the game's release. The controller is set to release on September 30 and costs $89.99. Preorders are live now at Amazon and other major retailers.
IGN reports that the controller's design reflects the game's storyline, with a black body and a gaping red hole opening on its faceplate, complete with 3D molded, laser-etched details. The series' iconic skull image, the Crimson Omen, is emblazoned in the center of the red hole. The controller also features transparent red plastic triggers and unlabeled face buttons, except for the Xbox button.
In addition to the controller, an officially licensed Gears of War: E-Day-themed controller dock from 8BitDo is also available for preorder, as reported by IGN. The dock is part of the game's marketing campaign, which is building up to the game's release as Microsoft's major Xbox exclusive for the coming holiday season.
