The Xbox 360 version of Toy Story 3 will be pulled from sale on September 29, 2026, ahead of the release of a modern remaster. Video Games Chronicle reports that the game's Xbox Store description has been updated to warn buyers, a change first noted by TrueAchievements.
Released in 2010 to coincide with the animated film, the tie-in has been available on the Xbox Store ever since at $9.99 / £8.99, and backwards compatibility has kept it running on Xbox Series X and Series S. The updated listing says players who have already bought Toy Story 3 will still be able to access the game after the delisting date.
The listing also points to what replaces it. Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a remaster from Digital Eclipse, is dated October 15, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, and the store description says it will include all of the features in the original game with updated graphics and additional new features.
What the remaster adds
Announced in June, Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is described as a modern remaster of the 2010 game, with upgraded visuals, higher resolutions and improved performance. It also folds in content that was previously exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version. The original release was generally well received by critics, particularly for its open-world Toy Box mode, which VGC describes as the precursor to Disney Infinity.
The remaster arrives alongside Toy Story: Retro Roundup, a collection of older games based on the film franchise that were originally released across PlayStation, SNES, Game Boy and other platforms.

Toy Story 3 is celebrated as one of the great movie-to-game adaptations ever made, and it has been an absolute pleasure to rediscover.
Mika made the comment when the remaster was announced in June. Anyone who wants the 2010 Xbox 360 build rather than the remaster has until September 29 to buy it.
