According to the HELLDIVERS 2 — Steam announcements, the Devoid of Liberty update for Helldivers 2 is now live on PS5, PC, and Xbox. This update introduces a new frontier for players to explore, the Void, which has been altered by strange mutations and is home to new, hideously mutated organisms.
The update includes new missions, such as destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, completing data reconnaissance, and infiltrating Illuminate structures. Players will also have access to new secondary objectives, including eradicating Void mutations and extracting materials for research. Additionally, a secondary extraction zone can be opened on the map to potentially evacuate the squad faster.
Two new enemies have been introduced in the update: the Wretch and the Crusher. The Wretch is a nimble enemy that can easily overwhelm weaker fighters, while the Crusher is a relentless enemy that can take heavy damage and dish it out. Players will need to develop strategies to take down these new threats.
The update also includes new features, such as the ability to gain all 300 ranks of security access and privileges, as well as new rank titles. SEAF platoons will also be available to aid in completing operations, providing medical support and a boost to morale. The Helldivers 2 Super Merch store is also now available, offering special merchandise for purchase when players complete in-game achievements.
